Exercise, Diet and PreDia®: The Trifecta of Helping With Prediabetes

Exercise, Diet and PreDia®: The Trifecta of Helping With Prediabetes

Prediabetes is essentially defined as having high levels of sugar (also called glucose) in the blood. Normally the pancreas will produce a hormone called insulin which will push the glucose molecules into cells to be used for energy and storage and will then lower the blood glucose levels.

However, in prediabetes, the pancreas is not able to produce enough insulin to counterbalance these high amounts, thus causing more glucose to remain in the blood. Additionally, cells can become more insulin resistant, which means they will not take in glucose molecules like they usually do, therefore, causing more of them to remain in the blood.

If this continues to occur, it can eventually lead to a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes which can then progress to other complications, such as heart and kidney disease, to name just a few.

Not to mention the cost associated with having type 2 diabetes is enormous! According to the American Diabetes Association (ADA), in 2017 the total cost of diabetes in the United States was $327 billion!

With the cost of anti-diabetic drugs and office visits increasing by the day and being less covered by insurance, the total cost for having diabetes is massive and is expected to continue to rise in the coming years.

Prediabetes is a general warning that you are heading to troubling times if you do not change. But there is good news! Prediabetes can be reversed, and you can avoid full-on diabetes through three easy ways!

Adding exerciseeating a healthier diet, and adding PreDia® to your daily routine are the KEYS to controlling your blood glucose levels and getting into a healthier lifestyle.

The Three Keys

Nutrition. Out of the three, the most important component to lowering blood glucose levels and reducing your risk of developing diabetes will be by addressing your diet. Eating foods that are rich in healthy fats, protein and fiber and less foods that contain high amounts of processed sugars and carbohydrates will help to control your glucose levels.

Nutrition is important since foods can either trigger an increase or decrease in blood glucose levels. Processed sugars and carbohydrates will easily cause a quick spike in your levels. Proteins, healthy fats, and fiber will not cause a spike in glucose and actually will keep you more satisfied which will cause less insulin to be produced. The reduction in insulin ultimately leads to the pancreas being able to carry out other functions and work more efficiently.

There are plenty of foods and recipes that can not only help to reverse prediabetes and get your glucose levels under control but are also tasty and will leave you feeling satisfied for long periods of time.

Exercise. Exercise in general is good for you. It helps with mood and helps you to build muscle and lose fat as well. But did you know that it is one of the best ways to help lower glucose levels? This is because it causes the cells to become insulin sensitive, meaning it will allow the cells to take in more glucose molecules so it can be used for energy and storage.

The ADA recommends getting at least 150 minutes weekly of moderate to vigorous exercise. If you think about it, that is easily 30 minutes a day for at least 5 days a week! There are a variety of ways to get moving daily and the best part is you don’t need a gym membership to get started!

PreDia®. Lastly, after mastering a healthy diet combined with a good exercise regimen, adding PreDia® to your lifestyle can help tremendously get you to your goal levels.

PreDia® uses a special formulation of abscisic acid (ABA), also found in grapeseed extract, which helps to lower your blood glucose levels independently of insulin.

This is significant because it stops the body from overproducing insulin and basically stops the pancreas from being overworked. PreDia® is generally a safe supplement but talking with your physician before taking it is advised.

Prediabetes is more than just having high blood sugar levels; it is the gateway to not only getting type 2 diabetes but also increases your risk of developing other chronic conditions in the long run. Therefore, getting enough exercise, eating a well-balanced diet which consists of healthy protein, fats, and fiber, and adding PreDia® to your regimen, can help to reverse prediabetes, prevent long-term complications, and can help you live a healthier life.
